Esslingen Coimbatore Association (Esscom) is found under the Societies Act, 1975 to facilitate the twinning between both the cities and was found in Nov 2008. The District Collector, The Commissioner of Corporation and The Mayor of Corporation are the Ex-Officio members of this association.
Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (https://www.ccmc.gov.in/) has signed an agreement with the Municipal Council of Esslingen am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, Germany (Federal Republic of Germany) on 1st July 2016 in Germany to kick start a historic event of inking of the partnership between the two cities to establish friendship and cooperation between both the cities.
Esslingen am Neckar (http://www.esslingen.de/,Len/startseite.html) is a city in the Stuttgart Region of Germany which has already twinning partnership with 10 other cities in the world.
Some of the areas of cooperation would be in education, culture, sports, waste management, environment, tourism etc.
